Media Statement TROMPSBURG – The police in Trompsburg and officials from Social Development donated much needed goods to two families in Phaliso View near Trompsburg on Monday 21 October 2024. Both of the families lost their furniture and clothes during fire incidents. Mr Thaba Dira, aged 46, residing in Phaliso View, found his shack on fire. No one was inside the shack at that time. He received clothes, mattress and blankets. The second family that received donations was for Mr and Mrs Lawerloot, both in their early 60’s, and living with a five-year-old adopted boy. Mrs Laberloot was preparing supper outside when their shack caught fire. No one was injured during the incident. The Lawerloot were also handed shoes, clothes, toiletries and mattress. Both families were grateful to receive much needed help from the two organisations. Police are appealing to members of the community to be vigilant when using open fire around the premises. Ends
