Operation Vala Umgodi team heeds community call for more police visibility in Lejweleputswa

FREE STATE – During patrols, Combat and Proactive teams deployed for Operation Vala Umgodi in Free State interacted with various community members and received requests for more police visibility.

Operators followed up information and a 31-year-old male was arrested for dealing in drugs in Dagbreek near Welkom. The suspect was found in possession of thirteen (13) small bankies or zip lock plastics containing dried leaves of dagga. Cash believed to be proceeds of drugs sale was also confiscated. A case of Dealing in dagga was opened at Welkom Police Station.

One complainant in a case of housebreaking and theft stopped the operators in Odendaalsrus and requested the team to help in finding his stolen property. The members followed leads in Kutlwanong Location. The stolen Hisense 54 inch television, home theatre surround music system and blankets were recovered in a house in K5 – Kutlwanong near Odendaalsrus. The police also arrested the 39-year-old male for possession of presumably stolen property.

Suspects will appear in different Courts soon.
