Media Statement WESTERN CAPE – The Western Cape SAPS management welcomed the convictions and sentences of 42-year-old Yusuf Barodien, 35-year-old Arnold April and 31-year-old Cameron Anderson who were responsible for the murder of Aiden Isaacs. Initial reports reveal that on Thursday, 30 April 2020 at approximately 17:45 the victim was in Disa Street, Lentegeur, Mitchells Plain, when he was approached by three Fancy Boys gang members. A fight ensued during which one of the suspects took out a firearm and shot the victim, leaving him fatally wounded. The victim succumbed to his injuries at the crime scene. The investigating team attached to the Anti-Gang Unit walked an extra in a bid to ensure that the perpetrators are put behind bars. Numerous statements were obtained which led to the subsequent arrests of the three suspects. The bail application was successfully opposed for all three. On Thursday, 17 October 2024, in the Mitchells Plain Regional Court, all three suspects were found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder. Cameron Anderson was sentenced to five years on the count of possession of firearm and one year on the count of possession of ammunition. These sentences will run concurrently. Ends
