17 October 2024 – Day three of the 2024 Sasol League National Championships was filled with thrilling matches that had to determine who would go through to the semi-finals of this prestigious Women’s tournament.
Teams were eager to put in the work to book a spot in the semi-finals and they did not disappoint on the big stage out at Loerie Park Sports Grounds in Knysna.
Ramatlaohle Ladies from Limpopo were the first team to book a spot in the semi-finals as they beat Gauteng’s FC Raycon 3-1 in the first match of the day. They topped Group A with four points.
University of Cape Town came out guns blazing to win Group C with 4 points, too as they hammered Eastern Cape’s Sophakama FC 6-0, for a semi-finals spot.
The last match of the day saw Kovsies FC beating Northern’s Cape Royal Wizards 3-0 to win Group B with six points.
Ezemvelo FC from KwaZulu Natal were determined best runners up with four points and a better goal difference to Mpumalanga’s Super Strikers to be determined as the last team to book a spot in the semifinals.
The 2024 Sasol League National Championships semi-finals will be played tomorrow, 18 October 2024 where the two winning teams will gain promotion to the Women’s National League and advance to the finals.
Ramatlaohle Ladies will face Ezemvelo Ladies at 11am in the first semi-final while, the battle of the Universities will see University of Cape Town take on Kovsies FC at 15h00.
Both matches will be broadcast live on SABC Sport, with the final scheduled for Sunday 20 October 2024 at 11am.
