Media Invitation: Western Cape SAPS launches Safer Festive Season Operations in the province

WESTERN CAPE – With the holiday season fast approaching, the Western Cape police and its law enforcement partners are ready to police the Province during this period and will display our preparedness with an official launch of Safer Festive Season Operations on Thursday, 17 October 2024. 

High density operations under the Operation Shanela umbrella, roadblocks, stop and searches and the tracking and tracing of wanted suspects will dominate this period and an aggressive stance will be taken against serious and violent crimes so that the public can enjoy a peaceful holiday without the fear of crime.

The Western Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lt Gen (Adv.) Thembisile Patekile cordially invites the media to the launch, where the MEC for Police Oversight and Community Safety in the Western Cape, Ms Anroux Marais (MPL) and the National Commissioner, Gen Fannie Masemola will be in attendance.
