Media Statement POLOKWANE – Detectives in Maake, near Tzaneen, are seeking public assistance regarding suspects involved in an alleged road rage incident that led to the robbery of a motorist on Saturday night, 12 October 2024, at approximately 23:00 in Kanana Village. It is alleged that a 20-year-old man was driving a Toyota Hilux along Ga-Sekororo to Madeira public road when he attempted to pass a white taxi displaying a sticker reading “God Bless.” The taxi suddenly stopped in the middle of the road to offload passengers. As the motorist attempted to pass, the taxi driver accused him of blocking his way, exited the vehicle, and physically assaulted him while attempting to open his driver’s door. The taxi driver was soon joined by five unidentified African males at the motorist’s door. Upon returning, he discovered that the suspects had stolen his vehicle keys. He subsequently arranged for towing and reported the incident at the Maruleng satellite police station. The suspects remain unidentified and investigations are ongoing. Police have opened a case of robbery with a firearm.
