Media Statement KIMBERLEY – Members of the Kimberley Public Order Police arrested two suspects aged 34 and 52 years old respectively, for possession of drugs and firearm parts in Galeshewe on Wednesday, 09 October 2024. During the execution of crime prevention patrols in Riedt Street, a suspicious white Isuzu bakkie without number plates was observed and subsequently stopped and searched. The members found mandrax tablets, 9mm pistol frames, slides, recoil spring, black gun knife barrel, a toy gun, pellet gun, and knives. The vehicle number plates were later found concealed underneath the vehicle seats. The suspects were arrested and charged for possession of drugs and illegal possession of firearm parts and will appear in the Galeshewe Magistrates Court soon. The Frances Baard District Commissioner, Major General Charlotte Makgari, commended the members for their vigilance and ensuring that our streets are free from drugs and firearms. The proliferation of drugs and firearms remains the priority of the SAPS.
