Media Statement FREE STATE – Swift and joint action by police members has led to the arrest of three undocumented foreign nationals, in Bronville, today at 03:45. It is reported that intelligence driven information was received by Bronville police members attached to Community Service Centre and Crime Prevention Unit. Information was operationalised and it led them to a house in Hani Park, Bronville. Upon their arrival at the house a group of unknown males managed to flee the scene. A search was conducted on the premises and two males were arrested for Possession of copper cables, Possession of Gold Bearing Material and Illegal Immigration. A third suspect was also apprehended for Possession of dangerous weapon. The following items were seized copper cables with an estimated weight of 100 kilograms, 2 bags of gold bearing material estimated weight of 100 kilograms and 1 knife.
Suspects aged 20, 46 and 53 years were arrested and will appear in the Welkom Magistrates Court tomorrow, 11 October 2024.
