PARKTOWN – Tshwane Crime Intelligence Unit has made significant strides in combating crime, with two successful operations conducted on Tuesday, 01 October 2024. On the first incident, a 44-year-old suspect was apprehended for possession and dealing in drugs following a tipoff received from a community member. The drugs valued at approximately R10,000 were found inside toilet pipes as the suspect tried to flush them when he saw the police. On another separate incident, a wanted suspect (43), linked to a murder case in Temba, was arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition in Hammanskraal. Exhibits seized include a silver 9mm pistol, one magazine and two live ammunition. This achievement demonstrates the effectiveness of community tip-offs and collaborative policing. Ends
