Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix graced the red carpet in London for the much-anticipated UK premiere of Joker: Folie À Deux.
The event buzzed with excitement as fans eagerly awaited their favourite stars.
LADY GAGA AND PHOENIX ATTEND PREMIERE
Both Gaga and Phoenix looked radiant, posing for photographs alongside the film’s director, Todd Phillips, according to NME.
Gaga, who plays Harley Quinn in the film, wore an outfit that appeared to nod to her upcoming Folie À Deux companion album.
This album, titled Harlequin, is set to drop on 27th September, just before the film’s worldwide release on 4th October.
LADY GAGA AND JOKER
It marks five years since the original Joker hit cinemas, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
As they made their way through the crowd, Joaquin Phoenix delighted fans by surprising them with free tickets to the screening.
Witnessing the excitement, Phoenix said, “It’s great to give something back to the fans who have supported us.”

His spontaneous act showcased the actor’s warmth and gratitude towards his audience.
The film, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival earlier this month, garnered a reputation as a jukebox musical, according to Entertainment Weekly.
It features covers of classic jazz standards like Oh, When The Saints and That’s Life, alongside original tracks that will appear on Gaga’s album.
LADY GAGA AND HARLEY QUINN
Critics are already raving about Gaga’s performance, noting that she “shines in a provocative prison musical.” Gaga shared insights into her portrayal of Harley Quinn.
“I drew from my own experiences,” she explained. “Harley Quinn is a character people know from the ether of pop culture.
I had a different experience creating her, specifically my experience with mania and chaos.” Her reflection on the character resonates deeply.
LADY GAGA AND THE THEMATIC DEPTHS OF THE FILM
She added, “Sometimes women are labelled as overly emotional, but what if when things become so broken from reality, it makes you…quiet?”
The film’s narrative promises to delve into the complexities of its characters.
Phoenix, who reprises his role as the Joker, hinted at the film’s thematic depth. He stated, “We’re exploring the emotional consequences of our actions, both on and off the screen.”
POTENTIAL NEW ALBUM
This focus on societal issues sets Joker: Folie À Deux apart from typical superhero films.
Fans also eagerly anticipate the album’s release, which marks Gaga’s first since her collaboration with Tony Bennett in 2021.
While she labels this album as LG6.5, she has teased plans for a new solo project in 2025, titled LG7.
END OF THE JOKER SAGA
Despite the excitement surrounding the film, Phillips has indicated that this might be the end of the Joker saga.
“We’ve said what we wanted to say in this world,” he mentioned.
However, the success of the film could leave the door ajar for potential future projects.
AN EXPERIENCE NOT TO MISS
With both a film and an album to look forward to, Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix have set the stage for an exhilarating journey ahead.
Joker: Folie À Deux hits cinemas on 4th October, promising to be a cinematic experience that fans won’t want to miss.
