Media Statement PARKTOWN – The police from Brakpan Visible Policing promptly responded to an anonymous tip-off regarding a kidnapping in Brakpan CBD at approximately 10h00 on Wednesday, 25 September 2024. The tip-off was that there were four males assaulting one male, and they had just forced the victim into a vehicle and drove off with him. The police responded and searched for the suspects. They spotted the vehicle matching the description and attempted to stop it. Instead of stopping, the driver accelerated, and high speed chase ensued. The suspects were cornered and ordered to get out of the vehicle. The police noticed a male inside the vehicle who was bleeding, with injuries on the face. Preliminary investigation revealed that the four suspects were responsible for assaulting and kidnapping the injured male. All four suspects, who were found with replica firearm, were arrested and charged with assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and kidnapping, while the victim was taken to the nearest medical care centre for treatment.
