Media Statement POTCHEFSTROOM – A 42-year-old man is expected to appear before the Ganyesa Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 25 September 2024, for the alleged murder of his 34-year-old girlfriend. The suspect’s court appearance emanates from his arrest on Sunday, 21 September 2024. According to the reports, the victim and her boyfriend visited her grandmother on Sunday morning, 23 September 2024, at her home at De-Aar village in Morokweng near Vryburg. The couple allegedly left the granny’s place and went to victim’s residence also in De-Aar village where a quarrel ensued. The neighbours alerted the granny after the suspect was seen hurriedly leaving the victim’s place. The grandmother went to her grandchild’s shack where she found her (granddaughter) lying in a pool of blood with a stab wound on her upper body. The police were summoned and assisted by members of the community to look for the suspect who was apprehend after being found hiding in the bushes. The Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena, thanked members of the community for working together with the police in ensuring that the suspect is arrested. Ends
