BRONVILLE – Members attached to the Welkom Anti-Gang Unit led by Sergeant Thabang Thesele managed to arrest four suspected livestock thieves on Thursday, 19 September 2024. Members followed up on intelligence-driven information, which led them to a house at Hani Park in Bronville. According to the members, upon arrival at the house, they found three males inside a shack busy cutting cattle carcass and one female cooking some of the intestines. The suspects were then interviewed and failed to provide a valid and reasonable explanation for being in possession of the carcass. The following items were found and recovered from the suspects. A cow’s head, eight cattle feet, two pairs of intestines, four butcher knives, one Okapi knife with blood stains and carcass. Four suspects aged between 29 and 34 were subsequently arrested for possession of suspected stolen livestock (cattle) and they will appear in the Welkom Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 23 September 2024.
