Media Statement POLOKWANE – The South African Police Service in Limpopo has made significant progress in the fight against drug trafficking, resulting in the arrest of three suspects, aged between 21 and 27, on Thursday, 19 September 2024, at Mamone village in Jane Furse, Sekhukhune district. This action was prompted by a viral social media video showing a young man using drugs and selling them to young people, leading Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe to order an immediate investigation. The Provincial Organised Crime Investigation Unit swiftly apprehended the 21-year-old suspect along with two accomplices. Substantial quantities of heroin, crystal meth, and cocaine were confiscated during the operation. The Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe commended the investigating team for their prompt action and issued a stern warning to drug traffickers. “We will not tolerate such selfish and criminal acts. Our commitment to combating the distribution of illicit drugs and safeguarding our community, especially our youth, remains resolute.” Concluded Lt General Hadebe The suspects will appear in Sekhukhune Magistrate Court facing charges of possession and dealing in drugs.
