Provincial Murder and Robbery Unit arrest suspect for Mothibistad murder

KIMBERLEY – The Northern Cape Murder and Robbery Unit arrested a 33-year-old foreign national male in connection with the killing of 77-year-old woman at her home in Mothibistad on Tuesday, 22 August 2023.

The team led by Detective Warrant Officer Patrick Dibebe, assisted by Detective Sergeants Mojalefa Ndubula and Tsholofelo Mogoje followed up on information and traced the suspect to Barack Obama section near Mothibistad on Tuesday, 17 September 2024.

The suspect will appear in the Mothibistad Magistrates Court soon.

The Provincial Commissioner of the Northern Cape, Lieutenant General Koliswa Otola, commended the public for reporting criminality to the police and praised the team for their perseverance and swift response.

The public is encouraged to rate the police efforts in fighting crime by participating in the “RATE OUR SERVICE” online survey to assist the police in improving services.
