POLOKWANE – Three suspects aged 19 and 23 have been arrested for possession of suspected stolen motor vehicle at Apel Cross in Sekhukhune District on Friday, 30 August 2024. Provincial Crime Intelligence and Provincial Flying Squad Members received information on a hijacked motor vehicle, a White Toyota Ayga, traveling from Jane Furse to Apel Cross with three occupants. The described motor vehicle a white Toyota Ayga was traced and intercepted at Apel Cross. The motor vehicle worth R200 000 was reportedly hijacked at Leeuwfontein, Motetema policing area. The suspects failed to account clearly and they were immediately arrested on charges of carjacking and possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle. The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, praised the teams’ combined efforts in the arrest and subsequent recovery of the vehicle. The three suspects will appear before Nebo Magistrate’s Court and Motetema Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of carjacking and possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle.
