POLOKWANE – The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has ordered police to track down two suspects who shot and killed a 37-year-old man at his residence at Masehlaneng village Nebo policing area in the Sekhukhune District on Friday, 30 August 2024 at about 21:30. According to reports, two armed male suspects intruded into the house, wearing balaclavas, and discovered the victim’s mother watching TV in her bedroom. They allegedly took her to the dining room, where the victim (son) was watching TV alone. They apparently sprayed him with pepper spray on his face before demanding money from him. The mother it appears left the dining room to attend the crying infant. Suddenly she heard a gunshot and when she went to check found her son lying on the ground with gunshot wound on his left armpit. One spent cartridge was found next to the victim’s body. The suspects fled the scene with the victim’s two cellphones. The police and emergency medical services personnel were summoned to the scene, and the victim was certified dead at the scene. The police have opened murder case for further investigation. The motive behind the incident is currently under investigation. A massive manhunt for the two male suspects has been activated.
