PHUTHADITJHABA – The Phuthaditjhaba police are seeking the community’s assistance in locating the family or relatives of an unidentified male, believed to be in his 30s, whose body was discovered in a state of decomposition in the Namahadi River. The body was found tied with plastic strings on both hands and legs. On Thursday, 28 August 2024, at approximately 15:40, three teenage boys were hunting with their dogs along the riverbank. One of the dogs became fixated on the river, prompting the boys to investigate further. Upon approaching the river, they observed a floating human body and immediately contacted the police. Sergeant Mabe from the Free State Diving Unit, alongside Phuthaditjhaba Detectives, recovered the body. The deceased was found wearing blue trousers and Uzzi sneakers, with his limbs bound by plastic strings. A murder investigation has been initiated, and a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
