Media Statement POLOKWANE – The police in Namakgale, Mopani District, have arrested a 52-year-old woman in connection with the alleged murder of her 63-year-old husband. The incident took place at Malungwane village in Mopani District on Tuesday, 27 August 2024, at about 22:00. According to the information, the couple was at home with their two grandchildren when the husband, who was allegedly intoxicated, ordered them to leave the house, resulting in a fight. The suspect then assaulted the victim with an unknown object on his upper body. The suspect was arrested the following day on Wednesday 28 August 2024. The victim was certified dead at the scene and the police opened a murder case for further investigation. The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has condemned the incident. “People facing relationship difficulties are encouraged to seek professional help to avoid conflicts which leads to unnecessary injuries and loss of life,” Remarked General Hadebe. The suspect will appear before Namakgale Magistrate’s court on Friday, 30 August 2024, on a charge of murder. The police investigation continues. Ends
