Media Statement GAUTENG – A WesBank subcontractor responsible for fixing government vehicles Prince Dube (41) has a R60 000 enticement preserved following a court order by the Johannesburg High Court granted on 20 August 2024. This is a development in the case, after Dube was arrested on 05 April 2024, in Fairlands following a Hawks’ Serious Corruption Investigation. A sting operation landed Dube, the owner of Itsukuzonke Motors in trouble after he tried to entice WesBank Forensic Investigation team with cash in order for his contract not to be stopped. This followed an audit by the bank of its service providers where it was discovered that the identity document of Dube had been marked for deletion by the Department of Home Affairs (DHA). This would have rendered him illegible to remain a supplier. When he was queried about the status of his identity document, Dube offered to pay R60 000, in the hope that the investigation against him would not proceed. A sting operation was conducted culminating in his arrest after he handed over the cash. The accused consequently appeared before the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on 08 April 2024. He was granted R7000 bail. The matter was postponed to 31 August 2024 for further investigation. Ends
