Media Statement POLOKWANE – The Police in Limpopo have arrested eight hundred and seventy (870) suspects for various offenses, including murder, attempted murder, rape, dealing in drugs, unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition among other charges. The operations led by females in law enforcement spaces embracing women’s month were conducted from 12 August to 18 August 2024. They were carried out by the various Police units, SANDF, other departments, and stakeholders through roadblocks, and the stop and searches focused on crime that are prevalent across the province. Police recovered two (02) stolen or hijacked motor vehicles, one (01) unlicensed firearm, thirteen (13) dangerous weapons, and stolen items. Moreover, a number of thirty-eight (38) wanted suspects were also arrested for serious cases such as rape, carjacking, and murder. The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has commended the members for ensuring that the citizens of this province are well protected against any criminal activities occurring in our province.
Some of the suspects have already appeared before various Magistrate’s courts across the province.
