PARKTOWN – A multi-disciplinary team comprising various SAPS units including Gauteng Traffic Police Airwing, CAP Specialised Operations, Tracker Connect, and Badboyz Security, successfully arrested four suspects aged between 34 and 36 for a series of armed robberies and crimes in Johannesburg on Tuesday, 20 August 2024. The suspects, who were utilizing two motor vehicles with false registration plates, were spotted in Protea Glen, Soweto, and apprehended after a strategic operation. Two unlicensed firearms, ammunition, stolen property (cigarettes and electronic devices), hand gloves, and multiple cellphones were seized. Preliminary investigation reveals that the suspects committed multiple armed robberies in Soweto. Further investigation is underway to link them to other cases in the Johannesburg area. All suspects will appear before the Magistrate court soon. Ends
