Media Statement CAPE TOWN – An integrated SAPS operation between members of the National Intervention Unit and Lockdown III resulted in the confiscation of firearms, ammunition, drugs and the arrest of one suspect during high-density operations on Thursday evening, 01 August 2024. The members conducted an intelligence driven operation in Kaap Road, Mfuleni and searched the premises. They confiscated two 9mm pistols, two revolvers, various assorted rounds of ammunition and 40 packets containing cocaine which was hidden in different places in the informal dwelling. A 31-year-old man was arrested for the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and the possession of drugs. The suspect will appear in the Blue Downs Magistrates’ court on Monday, 05 August 2024, on the mentioned charges. Ends
