Media Statement POLOKWANE – The SAPS Sekgosese Detectives in Mopani district are seeking the public’s assistance in locating additional suspects allegedly involved in a murder case that occurred on 22 June 2024 at Itereleng Village, subsequent to a violent feud that ensued between initiation educators and a certain group of community members. It is alleged that on Saturday at about 20:00, a group of community members organized an event where they played loud music. The initiation educators reportedly arrived at the event and switched off the music. This resulted in a conflict that escalated tensions. The two groups attacked each other with stones. Several people were injured, and a 35-year-old man lost his life. Seven suspects were swiftly arrested in connection with the incident and charged with murder and assault GBH. Preliminary investigation linked two other suspects with the murder, who have since been on the run. Four of the suspects Joseph Male (45), Mapeya Albert Selopyana (45), Mpho Present Ramashiya (37), and Motlatso Ernest Masiya (35) were charged with murder and were each granted R10,000-00 bail by Sekgosese Periodical Court.They will return to court on August 15. Meanwhile, the other three suspects, Tumelo Masiya (34), Mpho Malaka (42) and the 38-year-old initiation school educator, Kenny Raphahlele, charged with assault GBH were each granted R1500-00 bail and will also appear on the 15th. Detectives are now seeking the public’s help in identifying and locating these suspects. They are calling on two individuals, namely, Mohale Mampye and Trinity Matome Stanley Molea, to come forward and assist police in their investigation.
