Media Statement GAUTENG – Former managing director at Richmark Holding Pty Ltd, Jayson Desiga Ramsammy (51) was sentenced and convicted by the Palm Ridge Specialised Commercial Crimes Court on Thursday, 18 July 2024, following a lengthy Hawks’ Serious Commercial investigation. The court initially convicted Ramsammy on 05 February for three (3) counts of fraud. The court has followed that up with a recent sentence of eight (8) years direct imprisonment. This stems from a case that was registered at the Johannesburg police station in May 2016.
Jayson Desiga Ramsammy was accused of fraud, alternatively theft by false pretences as well as misrepresentations to Richmark Directors to transfer funds amounting to R28 million under the guise that it was a service provider’s account. There were also other fraudulent invoices done with no work rendered.
