Media Statement WESTERN CAPE – The distribution of drugs in our communities was dealt a blow when police members confiscated mandrax tablets and crystal meth in Goodwood on Friday evening, 19 July 2024. Members of the Anti-Gang Unit conducted an intelligence driven operation in Goodwood and pulled over a white Suzuki and found drugs in the vehicle. A licensed firearm was also found in the possession of the suspect. Further investigations led the members to an address in Bloem Street, Goodwood, and when they searched the premises they found another licensed firearm and drugs in the garage. The members confiscated 17624 mandrax tablets, 476 half mandrax tablets, six packets crushed mandrax, 211 packets containing tik, one big and one medium sized bags containing tik and a undisclosed amount of cash. The two licensed firearms were also confiscated. A 48-year-old man was arrested for the possession of drugs.
Once charged the suspect will appear in the Goodwood Magistrates’ court.
