Media Statement POLOKWANE – The Provincial Commissioner of police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has welcomed the arrest of a man for possession of suspected stolen property and possession of dangerous weapon. The information provided suggested that police received an intelligence information about a suspicious vehicle driving in the tombstone mine, Rosenekraal ,Sekhukhune District on Saturday 20 July 2024 at about 03:50. The members operationalized information and drove to the scene. The Police while busy driving to the scene they received another alert that the vehicle was driving towards Zone 11 village in Rosennekal. Police quickly drove and stopped the vehicle and when the suspects saw police they stopped the vehicle and two of them fled on food The driver was not so lucky and was cornered. The police searched the vehicle, and they found eight pieces of copper cable with a measurement of 100m with an estimated value of R30000-00. Vehicle with registration number of MP, 100m copper, two iron saw, two torches, bolt cutter and sharp knife were booked in as part of exhibits while the driver was immediately nabbed.
He is expected to appear before the local Magistrate’s Court soon to face charges of possession of suspected stolen property and possession of dangerous weapon.
