KIMBERLEY – During the execution of vehicle patrols and stop and search actions by Springbok Visible Policing on Wednesday, 17 July 2024, members noticed an unknown male person acting suspiciously. Upon searching him as well as the premises, they found bags containing suspected dagga. A 26-year-old suspect was arrested, and the dagga valued at R61 700-00 was confiscated as well as money believed to be the proceeds of crime. Simultaneously in Port Nolloth also on Wednesday, 17 July 2024, whilst the police were conducting vehicle patrols in the area, they received information of a male person allegedly selling drugs in the Sizamile settlement in Port Nolloth and subsequently acted swiftly on the information. At the identified house, a search was conducted, and the police found and confiscated suspected tik, mandrax and dagga with an estimated street value of R3000-00 and cash believed to be the proceeds of crime and arrested a 45-year-old male suspect. The arrested persons are expected to appear soon in the respective magisterial courts. Police remain committed towards the eradication of drugs and substance abuse in the Namakwa District. Ends
