ROSENDAL – The Rosendal police arrested a 26-year-old man from Mautse near Rosendal on the alleged house robbery case in which he attacked the woman (20), requested to sleep with her and took her cellphone. It’s alleged that on 15 July 2024 at about 00:05, the 20-year-old woman from Mautse township was sleeping in separate bedrooms with her brother. She heard a sound in the house as her lights were turned on before they went to bed. It was dark when the intruder was in her bedroom, asking to sleep with her and demanding her cellphone. It’s further alleged that he touched her cellphone and the screen light turned on. He immediately ran out of the house and left. The suspect was traced and arrested by the police. The victim’s cellphone was not recovered. The suspect has been charged and is expected to appear before the Ficksburg Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 18 July 2024, facing a charge of house robbery.
