Media Statement POLOKWANE – The Police in Bela-Bela, Waterberg District have apprehended a 25-year-old male suspect linked to burglary incidents committed at three residential properties at Bela-Bela Extention 08 in December 2023 and April 2024 respectively. Acting swiftly on investigative leads, the operational team was able to locate the suspect on Tuesday afternoon, 09 July 2024, around Bela-Bela. During the arrest, several stolen properties, including laptops, driver’s license, identification document, bank cards, car keys, etc, were recovered. Further investigation revealed that the suspect already sold a plasma TV, and the investigation is ongoing to trace it. “The diligent efforts of our officers have resulted in the recovery of valuable possessions, which will soon be returned to their rightful owners,” said Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe. “We would like to commend the community for their cooperation and assistance in this case. We encourage anyone with further information regarding this incident or other suspicious activities to contact police promptly,” concluded Lieutenant General Hadebe. The suspect will appear before Bela-Bela Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 11 July 2024 on charges of burglary and possession of suspected stolen property. Ends
