TUMAHOLE – A house fire left four minors orphaned in Tumahole, Zone 6 over the weekend. On Sunday 30 June 2024 at about 06:00, Tumahole police were summoned to Zone 06 with information about a house burning. Members rushed to the scene and discovered that the six children, aged between 3 and 13, who were inside the house, were already being rescued by neighbours, as were the two adults aged 40 and 34. Emergency medical services personnel were summoned to the scene, and the 34-year-old mother was rushed to the local hospital but she died while in hospital. The 40-year-old husband was also rushed to the local hospital and he died on Tuesday 2 July 2024 in the afternoon. Tumahole police opened cases of arson, murder and attempted murder.
