Media Statement GAUTENG – Mohammed Adris (35) a Tanzanian national was on Saturday, 29 June 2024 arrested by members of the Hawks Serious Organised Crime in Randburg, Johannesburg for the illegal possession of drugs. On Saturday, 29 June 2024, members of the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime followed up on information about suspected drug trafficking in Randburg. On arrival at the complex, the suspect was spotted exiting the said complex. Members approached and stopped the suspect who was driving a Hyundai Tucson, members introduced themselves and requested to search the vehicle. Upon searching one container, suspected crystal meth with an estimated value of R80 000 was found at the back seat of the vehicle and seized which led to the arrest of the suspect. The search proceeded inside the house of the suspect, however no drugs were found.
Adris made his first appearance at the Randburg Magistrate Court on Monday, 01 July 2024 where the matter was postponed to Wednesday, 03 July 2024 for legality status of the suspect and for formal bail application.
