Media Statement KWAMASHU – A suspect, aged 31, is appearing in the Ntuzuma Magistrate’s Court today to face a charge for possession of unlicensed firearm. On Thursday 27 June 2024 at about 16:30, members of SAPS were conducting their crime prevention duties when they received information about a man in possession of an illegal firearm, shortly after a pointing of a firearm case was opened at the Community Service Centre. Police proceeded to the identified address at Umbando road in B Section, where during the search, the identified suspect was found in possession of one 9mm pistol upon which he failed to produce a valid license. He was then placed under arrest. The recovered firearm will be subjected to ballistic testing. Ends
