Integrated SAPS operations yields success un Vredenburg

WESTERN CAPE – An integrated operation between the Anti-Gang Unit and Vredenburg SAPS led to the arrest of two men for the unlawful possession of firearms and drugs on Friday evening.

The members conducted crime combatting operation in the Vredenburg policing precinct to quell ongoing gang conflict in the area. They ensued with a search of two identified premises and confiscated three firearms, a .38 special revolver and two 9mm pistols with ammunition as well as mandrax tablets. Both suspects aged 29 and 40 were arrested for the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition as well as drugs.

They are due to appear in the Vredenburg Magistrates’ court on Tuesday on the mentioned charges.
