Media Statement WESTERN CAPE – The Knysna police resumed the search for Lungisa Guma (33) from White Location in Knysna who was last seen on 29 May 2024. According to witness reports available, Guma was wandering in White Location during the day. He never returned home and was subsequently reported as missing by his next of kin. Guma was dressed in a grey jeans and grey jersey at the time of his disappearance. A search party consisting of local police, South African National Parks (SANPARKS), Working on Fire, Knysna Municipality Law Enforcement, community volunteers and Urban Search and Rescue was established. The police also deployed a K9 trained search and rescue dog to assist the team. They already searched the forest near White Location and the search is expanded to other areas.
The investigation officer, Warrant Officer James Visagie, urge the public to come forward with any information which could ensure the safe return of the man. Anyone with information may contact the investigation officer at 044 302 6677 or 073 244 6154.
