Media Statement POLOKWANE – Lebowakgomo police outside Polokwane are investigating cases of business robbery and armed robbery committed at Lebowakgomo, Capricorn District respectively, on Friday, 07 June 2024 at about 02:30. According to the information, the victim was asleep when he heard someone breaking the wall to gain entry into the supermarket in Makotse Lebowakgomo. It is reported that five males entered the shop; two were armed with firearms and demanded money. They robbed the victim of an undisclosed amount of cash, cigarettes, a cellphone, and airtime. They then fled the scene. In another incident, on Thursday 06 June 2024 at Lebowakgomo along R518, next to the hospital, a male victim and his colleagues were approached by three unknown males armed with firearms and instructed them to hand over everything they had in their possession. Two cellphones, cash amount and tekkies were taken. They were forced to run to the nearby bushes. Both incidents were reported to the police, and business robbery and armed robbery cases were opened. Police are appealing to anyone with information that can assist with the arrest of the suspects to contact the crime stop number 08600 10111, the nearest police station, or share information on MySAPSApp.
