Media Statement LINDLEY – The Lindley police arrested the 29-year-old man wanted for the alleged murder of another on Sunday at a certain tavern in Ntha near Lindley and fled the scene after the incident. On 3 June 2024 the Lindley Detective and Vispol went out tracing an alleged murder suspect who was on the run after a serious offence. He was caught hiding at his sister’s place under blankets and arrested. It’s alleged that on Sunday, 2 June 2024 at about 22:40 the 29-year-old suspect was at a certain tavern in Ntha township near Lindley when he argued with Madiela Mokoena (25) near a gate. He allegedly stabbed him twice with a sharp object and fled the scene on foot. The man was declared dead by paramedics who noticed that he sustained a fatal stab wound to the chest. The motive behind the killing is not yet known. The deceased was identified positively by his family as Madiela Mokoena (25) of Ntha. A case of murder was opened. The suspect is expected to appear before the Lindley Magistrate Court today, 4 June 2024, facing charges of murder.
