Police seek positive leads to arrest suspects after body of a 60-year-old man found at Acguaville Village in Groblersdal

POLOKWANE – Groblersdal Police in Sekhukhune District are requesting assistance from the public to provide positive leads in the investigation following the discovery of the body of a 60-year-old man who was found stabbed in the bushes near Acquaville cemetery on Saturday, 01 June 2024 at about 11:00.

Police responded to the scene after they were alerted by community members. Upon arrival, they found the body of an elderly man with several stab wounds on his back. Police also recovered the deceased’s belongings, such as driver’s license, house keys and wallet at the scene.

The deceased was positively identified by his next of kin, and his indenty will be released in due course.

Police have opened a case of murder and the motive for the incident is still subject to Police investigation.
