Media Statement WESTERN CAPE – Vredenburg Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) seeks the assistance of the public to identify the two people depicted in the attached identity kits. The two can assist the police with the investigation of a rape that was perpetrated on Sunday 20 April 2024. Preliminary reports reveal that at about 23:30 the victim was walking through an open field behind Spruit Street in Vredenburg when she was grabbed by two unknown suspects who raped her. The suspects fled the scene and the victim went home where after they reported their ordeal to the police. We kindly request anyone who may have information regarding the people in the attached identity kits to contact the investigating officer Detective Sergeant Helendine May on 022 714 8617, 082 522 1011 or Crime Stop at 08600 10111.
