Media Statement POLOKWANE – A 26-year-old woman is behind bars to respond to the charges of her involvement in the murder of a male relative aged 33 on Saturday, 04 May 2024 in Tubatse policing area, Sekhukhune district. According to the information, the deceased who is mentally disabled went to the suspect’s residence at Bothashoek village on Friday night, and upon arrival, he became aggressive towards her. The suspect screamed for help, and a certain group of community members rushed to the house, and upon their arrival, they assaulted the man. It is alleged that the suspect in this matter also assaulted the victim. The crowd thereafter dispersed, and the suspect accompanied by other relatives transported the injured man to his residence in Mareseleng village, and they explained to his family what transpired. The victim was never taken to the hospital and succumbed to the injuries the following day on (Saturday). His identity is currently withheld for investigation purposes. The suspect was located and arrested at her home on the same date. She was charged with murder and will appear before Praktiseer Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 06 May 2024. Police investigations are ongoing to apprehend the other suspects. Limpopo SAPS Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has condemned the lawlessness by community members and called upon police to trace and arrest the suspects to face the full might of the law.
