Media Statement POLOKWANE – On Saturday 04 May 2024 at about 07:30, a 16 year-old girl residing at Letsokoane Section near Blooriver was allegedly walking from home intending to attend school lessons at a local Secondary school. While walking towards Steve Biko Park in Zone 3, an unknown male suspect suddenly approached from behind, suddenly grabbed the victim, and forcibly took her to the nearby bushes. The suspect allegedly pulled out a knife, ordered the teenager to undress, and subsequently raped her afterward. Following the rape ordeal, the suspect fled the scene on foot and left the victim in the bushes. The 16-year-old girl managed to get assistance from a member of the community who immediately took her to Seshego police station and a case of rape was opened on their arrival Police have launched a manhunt of an unknown male suspect and encourage anyone with information to contact the Investigating Officer Colonel Mamohoyi on 082 565 7288 or crime stop number 08600 10111 or nearest police station or MySAPSApp.
