Kroonstad Highway Patrol arrest diesel thief

VENTERSBURG – Highway patrol arrest a male with stolen diesel and equipment used in the act.

On Thursday 02 May 2024 at about 11:30, while Highway patrol members were on observation in the N1 near Ventersburg, they spotted two African males busy stealing diesel from one of the trucks parked at a truck stop.

Officers swiftly moved closer and the two African males took off as soon as they noticed the police.  Members chased after them, and one suspect was caught and arrested after he was found with the stolen diesel. The other suspect managed to run away.

The 36-year-old suspect will appear in the Kroonstad magistrate court soon for theft and possession of suspected stolen diesel.
