Media Statement POLOKWANE – The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has Instructed Police at Letsitele, Mopani Distrct to track down and arrest a group of suspects who robbed about three schools and took valuable items worth thousands of rands on Tuesday, 30 April 2024 night until the early hours of Wednesday, 01 May 2024. According to police reports, the victim and his colleague, both employees working as security officers were on duty patrolling the school premises when they noticed three unknown African males armed with firearms. The suspects instructed them to lie down on the ground and tie both their hands and legs with rope. They entered the office and stole 3 computers, 2 laptops, and 3 cellphones. They then fled the scene. On the second incident, at Robeni village on Tuesday, 30 April 2024 at about 03:00, the victim, a security officer, was on duty at the guard room when he was approached by three unknown African males, one of whom was armed, and he pointed at him with a firearm. They then tied both his hands and legs with a robe. They instructed him to show them where the safe was kept. He directed them to the admin block. They then left him in the guard room, broke the burglar door, and entered the room where the safe was kept. The following items were stolen from the safe:6 tablets, cellphones, and a server for Connect 12, 22 laptops, a server for CCTV, 1 tablet jump start, 4 data projectors, 1 cellphone, 1 Stylo E28 cellphone v, 1 big torch, 1 landline phone, and soccer boots. The total value of the items is thousands of rands . There were no shots fired, and no one was injured. On the third incident, at Nwajaheni village on Wednesday, 01 May 2024 at about 02:30, while patrolling the school premises, the security guard noticed four armed suspects pointing firearms at him, and they tied him on both legs and hands. They then broke the admin office with bricks and cut the safe open, and took valuable items such as: 5 laptops, 21 tablets, 16 USB and a cellphone. They then fled the scene. Police are appealing to anyone with information that can assist with the arrest of the suspects to contact Lieutenant Colonel Mavis Shilubane on 082 469 0900, crime stop number 08600 10111, the nearest police station, or share information on MySAPSApp.
