Media Advisory The Police Ministry and the management of the South African Police Service (SAPS) are creating and enhancing active and meaningful participation of men in the fight against Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF) and overall serious and violent crime. Minister of Police, General Bheki Cele will on Monday 29 April 2024, lead Imbizo Ya Madoda in Nelspruit Mpumalanga. This unique community engagement is expected to be attended mainly by men; young and old, who come from some of the areas around Nelspruit that have reported high number of GBV cases. The dialogue seeks to find short and long term solutions to address societal problems that frequently are drivers of crime often perpetrated by men. Top of the agenda during the engagement will be the role men can and should play; in the prevention and combating of crime and crimes against women and children. Members of the media are invited to attend the Imbizo Ya Madoda which will take place as follows:
