Media Statement POLOKWANE – A 38-year-old male suspect Ticha Madyuta appeared before Mookgophong Magistrate’s Court today, on a charge of attempted business robbery and will appear again on Thursday 18 April 2024 for bail application. The arrest of the suspect emanates after the accused and his two accomplices attempted to rob Cash and Carry Supermarket in Mookgophong Ext 1 on Sunday evening, 14 April 2024 at about 22:00. Three suspects entered the store, one armed with a firearm and the others with knives. They then pointed the store manager with a firearm and demanded cash. Community members quickly realised what was happening and assisted the victim. They apprehend one suspect, and the other two managed to escape. Police were notified, and the suspect was arrested and detained at the local police station. The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe commended the swift reaction of the community members in apprehending the suspect and handing him over to the police.
