CAPE TOWN – The Deputy Minister of Police, Mr Cassel Mathale together with the National Commissioner of the SAPS, General Fannie Masemola will interact with the communities of De Doorns, Wolseley and Mbekweni in the Western Cape. The community engagements will see the Deputy Minister of Police and SAPS management address community concerns in relation to policing. It is through interaction with the community that the Deputy Minister of Police will be in a position to understand what is leading to an increase of murders and robberies in these policing precincts. The ministerial Imbizo’s serve as an important platform for transparent and continuous constructive interaction between communities and government with a sole aim to address concerning issues related to crime in the communities. These communities have raised concerns around murders, political killings, gangsterism, extortion and farming community related issues.
