Police Minister to pay homage to slain KZN officer shot and killed while responding to complaint

Media Statement by the Ministry of Police

The Police Ministry together with the SAPS management in the KwaZulu-Natal province will on Saturday, 06 April 2024, bid a final farewell to Sergeant Sibongiseni Khoza who was on 29 March 2024, shot and killed in the line of duty.

According to police reports, the officer and two other members were responding to a complaint of a gunman who was randomly shooting at homestead around the Sumdumbili area in the Ilembe District of KZN.

When approached by police, the armed man shot at the police and Sargent Khoza was struck by a single shot in the forehead and died instantly.

Minister of Police, General Bheki Cele will deliver the eulogy at the funeral service of the fallen officer.

Members of the media are invited to attend the funeral.
