Media Statement POLOKWANE – The Bolobedu police have arrested a 29-year-old female suspect for the alleged fatal stabbing of her 34-year-old boyfriend, Tumelu Makwala, at his residence in the Sehlakong section of Mabosana village in the Bolobedu policing area on Friday, 29 March 2024, around 20:00. According to police reports, the suspect contacted her boyfriend’s mother, disclosing that a heated argument had escalated with her son, culminating in the tragic stabbing with a knife. Upon the mother’s arrival at the victim’s residence, she discovered him bleeding in his bedroom, prompting her to alert emergency personnel who, upon arrival, pronounced him deceased at the scene. A murder case has been opened by the police, leading to the immediate arrest of the suspect on charges of murder. The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, strongly condemned the violent incident and urged couples facing domestic challenges to seek professional support rather than resorting to violence The suspect is scheduled to appear before the Kgapane Magistrate’s Court in due course to face charges of murder.
