Second suspect arrested in Thabong after a woman was raped in QwaQwa

FREE STATE – A case of Rape was registered after a 30-year-old woman was raped at Mphatlalatsane section in Tseki Qwaqwa by two suspects during March 2011.

The first suspect was arrested and the second suspect was still on the run since the incident was reported. A Warrant for his arrest was issued. Members of Welkom Public Order Police received a tip-off regarding the whereabouts of this suspect.

The information was operationalised on the 21 March 2024 at about 18:00 a house in Thubelisha Thabong, Welkom was approached and a 40 year old suspect was found and arrested. The case is being investigated by Detective Sergeant Tlaleng Mohale of Phuthaditjhaba FCS. Investigation continues.
