NELSPRUIT – The quick response from Operation Vala Umgodi members resulted in the arrest of a 27-year-old suspect for allegedly dealing in drugs. Members received information from a whistle blower about the suspect who was probably preparing the substances for the market. Members immediately responded to the information that led the team to Ezinambeni, Kwaguqa in Emalahleni, yesterday, 19 March 2024. The suspect was found red-handed cutting suspected Rock into smaller pieces. It looks like he was packaging the substances to be delivered or distributed somewhere to certain individuals. The suspect was arrested then charged for dealing with drugs. Police seized the suspected drugs which weighed at about 0.31grama, with an estimated street value of about R2 280-00. The male suspect is expected to appear at the Emalahleni Magistrate’s Court today, Wednesday 20 March 2024.
The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela, has commended both the whistle blower and members for their unwavering efforts of tackling the challenge of drug dealing.
